comes up. you see the area of low pressure coming in off the coast. but for the most part the heavy rain has to make its way inland. the futurecast shows light showers by 8:00 tomorrow. the heavy rain pushes in around 9:00, 10:00. nor the north bay and san francisco alike. and it pushes down to the south bay and the east bay at 10:00 monday morning. at lunchtime we clear out and get ready for the next round of rain that pushes through for halloween evening. the evening planner does include showers and heavy rain. maybe a rumble of thunder too and we have winter storm warnings to talk about. we'll go over that in the forecast. back to you guys. >> we're going to don't track the rain but you can stay connected with our free nbc bay area app and follow the

interactive radar and set alerts for your neighborhood. police sex scandal. nbc bay area confirmed that the richmond city manager is planning to fire four police officers who are accused of exploiting a teenager when the officers had sexual relationships with her. dozens of officers from other agencies have been linked to this scandal. berkeley police called off the search for a man who hit an officer during a traffic stop. it happened a few hours ago at dover and 61st in oakland. that's next to the border between oakland and berkeley. as the officer talked to the driver, the driver took off clipping the officer. the police lost track of the driver at 7th avenue. the police officer was not injured. and it is ten days now until

the presidential election. the race for the white house becoming even more tumultuous. donald trump demanding that clinton answer for the latest october surprise about the e-mails and clinton is lashing out at the head of the fbi for the timing of the news. marianne favro has a closer look. >> reporter: trump was in colorado today and clinton was campaigning in the swing state of florida and voters are left wondering what's next? as early voters made their decisions in san jose, some are waiting to see what happens next in a quickly changing campaign despite warnings from justice department leaders he may be violating policy, fbi director james comey announced his agency found more e-mails which might be relevant into the investigation into hillary clinton's private e-mail server. today in the key swing state of

florida, clinton demanded that the fbi director clarify exactly what he found. >> we called on director comey to explain everything right away, put it all out on the table. >> reporter: she thought the e-mail investigation was behind her. now there's a cloud of uncertainty. >> it's pretty strange to put something like that out with such little information right before an election. in fact it's not just strange, it's unprecedented and it is deeply troubling. >> reporter: in colorado, donald trump was re-energized. >> we're going the beat crooked hillary big. >> reporter: and seized the opportunity to strike. >> this is the biggest political scandal since watergate and it's everybody's deepest hope that justice, at last, can be properly delivered. >> reporter: the fbi bombshell is breathing new life into the trump campaign as he fights polls that show him trailing in

more about the issues that are up for votes and the candidates that are specific to your city and county. a man is fighting for his life after shooting in the industrial complex in the south bay. police are investigating whether it happened at an underground nightclub. nearby business owner says he was not there the morning of the shooting but he visited his office on a weekend recently and saw a lot of young people partying in the parking lot. >> when i came here there was tons of car like 25, 30 cars and a lot of young girls and guys. and most of the girls between 18 and 21 years old. i was so surprised. i said what is going on here? they. drinking and hanging out here. >> no suspects have been arrested in the shooting. new video into the newsroom of a large house fire in san jose at a house on president

diablo drive. one person was trapped in the home. the firefighters got that victim out alive. neighbors caught that fire on video. the condition of the person trapped in the home has not been released. on thursday we first reported a break in at a haunted house run by a father/son duo. last night they tried to break in again. we introduced you to the men. on wednesday thieves stole $3,000 worth of gear from their haunted house and last night the thieves tried to strike again but this night they were not so lucky. a security guard stopped them. it is unclear if the suspects were arrested. the house is open through halloween night. there are plenty of parties and police officers too. christie smith is in san francisco where one of the biggest parties is going on

right now. christie? >> reporter: good evening to you. in the last hour or so, the crowd really started to pick up here in the castro. of course nothing like the huge street parties we've seen in years' past but still a good crowd out here, creative costumes and folks who live nearby seem to like it this way. walk down castro street in san francisco on a saturday before halloween and nearly any costume you can dream of is here. >> chewy's angels. >> this couple has lived in the neighborhood for 44 years. they remember when the castro played host to a massive celebration that drew tens of thousands of people into the neighborhood. >> it was intense. the streets and sidewalks were crowded. you could hardly walk. and people were in outrageous outfits. >> reporter: it came to an end

in 2009 after a shooting three years earlier that injured several people and there was other violence. tonight there was a strong police presence and a small festive crowd in bars and restaurants. >> wonderful to be with you mortals today. >> reporter: a place to celebrate and people watch and enjoy the return to a neighborhood feel. >> it's perfect now. it's a neighborhood and family event. doesn't every family celebrate halloween this way? >> reporter: people who live nearby say they like the way this halloween weekend rolled out. they have been celebrating friday, saturday, sunday, and of course monday. sometimes you see scenes with halloween costumes and thought we might see more trump and clinton. we didn't see a lot of that out here. but what we did see were -- related costumes. >> thanks very much. >> how cool is that?

a bay area astronaut is back on earth after a trick to the international space station. this was the capsule that brought kate ruben back to earth a few hours ago. a napa native here. she touched down in kazakhstan. she is happy to return home to the states just in time to vote. >> welcome home. they flew half way across the country to fight a controversial oil pipeline project. this is video showing police clashing with demonstrators this weekend in north dakota. a group of local students were there to offer their support. they joined the demonstrators of the local sioux try. they are trying to stop the construction of the north dakota access pipeline. the youth group flew home before

intense clashes with police on thursday. they say they are more motivated than ever. >> just really clarified what i'm supposed to do. we're all -- the power's in the people. so if one of us does something it will inspire somebody else to do something. >> the group will rejoin the protest in december. in the middle of the san francisco bay this morning what used to hold up the bay bridge exploded in a blaze of glory. the foundation of the eastern span of the bridge no longer exists. crews used 12,000 pounds of explosives do that. the traffic on the bridge was slowed. the bike path was closed. new at 11:00, an audience evacuated during a performance at new york's metropolitan opera house because of a suspicious powder. it was most likely someone

spreading his friend's ashes on the orchestra pit. it happened during the intermission of "william tell" officials confirmed that powder was not harmful. the rest of the performance along with a second performance were cancelled. the audience members were not pleased. >> the audience yelled and whistled and were very unhappy audience. but they didn't change their decision. there was no fourth act. >> the man who had the ashes has not been found but police say they have him on surveillance. maybe it's just a matter of time. an accidental case of grand theft auto? look at the video outside a home. the car's owner saw the woman driving out of her driveway. but the next day the woman returned the subaru back to the owner's house and left a note

sunday night football. it's appointment tv. >> there are a lot of musicians that live in the area. that will be cool to see. how are we looking for tomorrow? >> heavy rain to start the day. as you wake up around 7:00, 8:00, the next round of heavy rain pushing back into the region, setting for a soggy sunday. but if you have outdoor plans we will have dry times in the afternoon. once we get rid of the rain we get rid of this and look forward to halloween. you will notice that the cloud cover is extensive out there now. the showers to the north but the core of the system is offshore but we have a ways to go before we start to see the rain push on shower. the futurecast shows the story. dry skies now. but tomorrow morning when you wake up, the first round of rain moves in. look at these colors here. that is heavy rain around 8:00, 9:00 for the north bay, san francisco around 9:00 as well.

and it pushes to the east bay and the south bay tomorrow. this is around 10:00, 11:00 in the morning. after that, we'll start to dry out on sunday. a good mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon. and temperatures 70 in cupertino. 69 in san jose and 61 for half-moon bay. across the north bay, low 60s with a mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon. but the morning will be wet. 68 in danville tomorrow. now the futurecast as we put it into motion once again tomorrow evening shows the showers clearing out which means a dry start to the day on monday then the rain returns monday afternoon. the north bay has a chance of seeing a wet halloween. look what happens as the futurecast shows the rain moving into san francisco. 6:00 same deal for the east bay. still dry for the south bay. that's something to note for the south bay. it looks like if you are out

before 7:00 you may be dry. after that, the rain pushes into the south bay and san francisco starts to clear out. it will be kind of tricky trying to get around. we are expecting the rain in the area. 1/4 inch possible in the south bay and 1/2 inch in san francisco. rain is included in the halloween forecast but i think we will see sun and clouds. not expecting a complete washout which is a change to the forecast. the futurecast shows snow in the sierras. we're expecting up to 1 to 2 feet of snow above 7,000 feet. great news for ski resorts. i heard some will be open for halloween. that is really nice. in fact temperatures here will remain nice as well. 60s and 70s. after halloween the next chance of rain pushes in for saturday

welcome back. i'm henry woffords. sharks wrapped up a three-game home stand against nashville. let's get to highlights. pretty good game tonight. sharks taking on the nashville predators and they were trying to remain undefeated. look at that scary look. first period, the puck in the

crease. make it count. jams it in for the goal. second period sharks on the power play. the shot goes wide. don't worry, pavolski is there for the rebound. sharks up 2-0. 17 seconds later, the puck deflects off a defenders skate. sharks are 4-0 at home this season. they win by a final of 4-1. the year of cleveland continues. the indians defeated the cubs 7-2 in game four of the world series taking a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. carlos santana hit a homer for the tribe. cleveland looking for its first world series title since 1948 in game five tomorrow. the raiders are in florida taking on tampa tomorrow. jack del rio watching his son
